Dallas, Texas – August 10, 2020: The National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations^® (NALTO^®) is leading healthcare staffing agencies in honoring locum tenens providers as part of this week’s fourth annual National Locum Tenens Week celebration.  

“National Locum Tenens Week is the time when we reflect on and honor the incredible work locum tenens clinicians do every day,” says NALTO® President Matt Erickson.

Unlike previous years, staffing firms will acknowledge the impact of locum tenens physicians on fighting the COVID-19 crisis in 2020.

“This year, the week takes on new significance as we reflect on the way so many locum tenens clinicians selflessly traveled to the places across the country hit hardest by the pandemic to serve on the front lines of the COVID crisis. The impact they’ve had on the patients in their care is tremendous,” says Erickson.

It’s estimated that ninety percent of U.S. hospitals use locum tenens physicians, highlighting the continued rise in demand for temporary staffing solutions.

National Locum Tenens Week occurs annually the second week in August. Led by the National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations^® (NALTO^®), the program’s annual platform provides a forum to collectively recognize locum tenens doctors and the contributions made by staffing agencies to the U.S. healthcare industry.
